Did we take a whole lot of time waiting for the UN to react in the past, to give "us" authorization to act with Iraq and Afghanistan, or for any other country for that matter? Nope, but why are we now with Libia? We have elected a dud of a president, Hilary should have gained Obama's position, we'd be far better off if we did, and it's clear, she's wanting to go, but Obama, forget it, he's turned over control over to the UN, who has the middle east's authories best interest in mind, not the peoples.
We are right now, playing puppet to the leaders of all of those in power, in the middle east, and under threat, that if we move forward our fuel supply will be cut off. The truth is, we could go in in one single day and topple the leaders in any of those countries, including Libia, but the sick, sad truth to why we don't react is simple. They want to make uprising to be distasteful to the people, no matter who they are, and they are using Libia as a pawn to make this statement. The uprisings continue throughout Africa, the middle east, now China, and many other countries, and it's going to continue, and each, time it will continue to be more bloody.
We have people in the US saying, just drill more, just dip into our reserves. Well, we don't have any reserves, they are a spec in comparison to our usage, and would not last for any practical purpose 10 minutes, much less, a year, of which is why there were supposed to be in place in the first place. Look up the volume of daily use, verses what we have in reserves, and then consider the process of extracting and distribution, and you'll see, it's not even worth mentioning. We say, drill more, but, again, that takes a great deal of time, even if we have adequet supplies underground to compensate for what we use, of which we don't. We have already passed the stage of embracing alternative fuel sources, it's just too late to change now, and it's going to now require a complete shut down of all we know and do, in order to jumpstart that aspect, and this includes going back to 19th century technology for basic survival.
So, what do we do, we sit by while innocent people die, we sit back supposably as the leaders of democracy, supporting undemocratic regimes for our basic survival, not very democratic to me if you want my opinion. We the people should extend to the whole world, not just we the people of the United States of America, and if the people want a different form of democracy, let them have it, surely England's version works just fine, you know the country that initially suppressed our own?
So, I'm sitting back here, X US Army Soldier, going we served to preserve our democracy, to support and fight for people that could not do so for themselves, to be a beakon of light in this dark world, and to show the resolve of our country is based upon the will of the American people, to spread freedom and justice throughout the rest of the world. Where is the freedom with people being oppressed? Where is the justice when they are slaughtered in the streets, merely trying to have a voice, in the only way they can? This is a shameful period of time for US diplomacy, this is a sad representation to what we should have in place. These actions, and inaction are NOT the will of the American people, just the opposite. My old tank battalion alone could be enough to turn the tide in Libia, and they refuse to let them come to the support and aid of a people that are begging for it. The sad truth, we have come under the yolk of the UN, and this is no longer the United States, our leader wants us to be merely a cog in the United World, and to be blunt, the world did not die for our freedom, we did, they have no right to impose an iota over who we are, our policies, or what we do.
I hear a lot of people talking about the New World Order, and clearly, seeing, this is what our president want's us to become and join, weather we want it or not. Right now, we need to show that we as Americans are different then the rest of the world, that we act when the rest of the world sleeps, that we stand up to the bullies of this world for people that cannot do for themselves, and that we are not puppets to outside governments. We need a strong leader and Obama is NOT it!
Anyway, right now, our inaction is only proving the claims against us as being true, that we are really only about filling our bellies, or more so, Gas tanks, and nothing more. There comes a time when one must do the right thing, even if it means it's going to cost lives, even if it means it's going to put us further into debt. Some things are worth sacrificing for, and freedom is one of them. A human being is worth far more then all of the money in the world, but our inaction clearly is showing, mammon takes priority, that we are willing to let people die in order to preserve our economies, and this clearly shows where our priorities are in the absolute wrong place. I am pointing to my own country, but can easily point to any other country accross the globe as well, we are all equally guilty, with few exceptions.
Moving on past this, on the world scene, are there countries with abilities to support these oppressed peoples with weaponry to spare? You bet ya! Are there ample aid supplies that can be flown in and dropped to the rebels? Is even the UN preventing that from happening, is it prohibiting it? Nope, but...we aren't doing it are we guys...I wonder why we aren't, and it's going back to what I mentioned earlier. They want the people to be taking on heavy casualties in order to prevent further uprisings, and they can not even blame religious, or Islamic forces on this one, for that would mean there is an excuse, and that card has been played to death, it's dead and buried.
Right now, we could do tremendous good towards stabilizing the areas, for promoting a more peaceful world, for putting an end to the Anti American and Anti Isreali Propoganda. We could make a huge difference if we acted, even if the UN opposes us, the people in Africa and the Middle east would find out, they have been lied to about us, that we honestly want their people to prosper and live in peace., that their radical leaders would have no leg to stand upon any more, but as it's going now it's adding more fuel to the fire.
Going through recent history, what happened in Iraq, they had their uprisings, they were crushed, and it took countless years for us to come back and fix the situation, and we still are! History is repeating itself, and this time, we know we should act, not wait and wait, then turn it into a long bloody conflict, we do NOT have to repeat history guys, and we are fully aware of what happens in the face of the same inaction we did before, we are doing right here and now.
This all said, in the future, when one of these UN countries that are in desperate need, and require intervention, I'll lobby the crap out of congress to postpone any action to help on their behalf. And point to this time, when there were people in need, and they waffled, and say, well, you are merely getting a taste of your own medicine.....
